Living in New Hampshire on a hobby farm - 16 sheep, 2 goats, 1 goose, 5 chickens, a barn cat, 2 beehives that may survive the winter, 3 indoor cats, 1 dog, 3 kids (two are non-binary).
Working in IT for an insurance company - I ask people who do real work what they want the computers to do and tell people who write real code what they said, and then check on that. And since I’m a team lead, that actually means I’m not doing my job well because I should let the people who report to me do those fun parts.
I’m a Quaker, and I started a site that posts Advices & Queries, and I’m hoping way will open for it to become a podcast. I read Pendle Hill Pamphlets when they come out, and have strong opinions about discernment in community. I‘m also working on getting my Meeting’s website transferred to a modern hosting solution.
I’m parenting trans kids in New Hampshire, so it’s getting close to “testify about the latest transphobic bills” season, and the politics look worse than last year.
I’m reading “Menewood” the sequel to “Hild” which is good, and “You, Me, and Our ADHD Family” which is somewhat actionable (because I am wondering if I have undiagnosed ADHD), and I’m trying to real Jules Gill-Peterson’s “History of the Transgender Child”.
Life is a lot, and sometimes that means that life is full.
